Call for Papers – ECEIA26 in Batumi, Georgia!
We are delighted to announce the 12th European Conference on Ethics and Integrity in Academia (ECEIA26), taking place 14–16 September 2026 at the beautiful Batumi, Georgia.
ECEIA26 welcomes researchers, educators, practitioners, and policymakers to explore the evolving landscape of academic ethics, integrity, and responsibility. We invite extended abstract submissions on topics including:
- Ethics of intelligence (Focusing not only on AI – how emerging technologies from artificial intelligence and neuroanalytics to digital twins and data-driven decision systems are reshaping what it means to learn, teach and research ethically);
- Academic freedom and integrity (Considering the tensions between safeguarding academic freedom and ensuring responsible, ethical research and development of materials for teaching, learning and assessment— including cases of censorship, political pressures, and threats to autonomy; Addressing freedom of speech and fake news in academia);
- Accountability and institutional responsibility (Mechanisms for addressing misconduct and the responsibilities of universities, publishers, and funders);
- Ethical publishing and dissemination (From any perspective: publishers, editors, peer reviewers, universities, librarians, authors and researchers; accountability and responsibility for publications when using AI; Addressing ‘publish or perish’, job security, precarity, etc.; predatory publishing, essay mills, citation mills, authorship for sale, etc);
- Postplagiarism and the changing landscape of authorship (Moving beyond the “copy-paste” era: exploring new forms of authorship and originality in a world of AI, remix culture, and collaborative writing);
- Ethical teaching of sensitive topics in the age of AI (For example, educating students about censorship and hallucinations by AIs when teaching history);
- Education & training in the area of ethics and integrity (Innovative experiences and research on education and training);
- Academic integrity in hybrid and online education (Examining new forms of misconduct in digital learning spaces, proctoring ethics, and balancing student privacy with assessment integrity)
