The Dubai Accord
On Academic Integrity in the Age of Artificial Intelligence
Inaugural Edition — launched 27 August 2026
What is the Accord
A shared floor for academic integrity, wherever AI is involved.
The Dubai Accord is a global, independent framework developed at the ENAI Summer School 2026 in Dubai. It sets out shared values and commitments so that artificial intelligence strengthens, rather than diminishes, learning, scholarship and public trust.
It is not a misconduct code or a technical standard. It is a common ethical floor — covering authorship, disclosure, assessment, privacy, equity and human oversight — that institutions, educators, researchers and students can apply within their own context, and that signatories commit to reviewing against their own practice within twelve months of endorsement.
The Accord rests on eight shared values: honesty, trust, fairness, respect, responsibility, courage, transparency and human agency.
