About the Series
The Wellbeing & Integrity in Higher Education online series explores the often-overlooked connection between academic wellbeing and academic integrity. Increasing pressure to perform, stress, burnout, and insecurity affect students, educators, and researchers alik —and can also increase the risk of misconduct, plagiarism, and unethical research practices.
Through webinars, panels, debates, and hands-on workshops, this series creates space for honest conversations, shared experiences, and practical solutions that support both wellbeing and integrity across higher education.

Session 1: Opening Keynote

Introduction to the series and its core themes. The session explores how academic pressure, stress, and burnout can contribute to integrity lapses such as plagiarism, cheating, and research misconduct.
Speaker: Prof. Judyth Sachs, Chief Academic Officer for Studiosity
Professor Judyth Sachs is the Chief Academic Officer for Studiosity. She was previously PVC Learning and Teaching at The University of Sydney, Deputy Vice Chancellor and Provost at Macquarie University, and was appointed as Special Advisor in Higher Education at KPMG. She is also a Director of Judyth Sachs Consulting. She describes herself as an educator and activist.

Students Speak: Balancing Success, Stress & Integrity

International students share lived experiences of stress, performance pressure, burnout, and temptation to cut corners—along with ideas for reducing harm and supporting wellbeing.

Performance vs. Wellbeing: Can Universities Have It All?

A critical discussion on whether academic excellence and wellbeing always align, and what structural, cultural, and policy changes universities can implement.

Session 4: Workshop for Lecturers and Researchers
Supporting Student Wellbeing Without Lowering Standards

Format: Interactive online workshop (1.5 hours)
Practical strategies for fostering academic integrity through assessment design, feedback practices, and early identification of wellbeing and integrity red flags and also addressing research pressure, publication stress, and questionable research practices, with a focus on sustainable and ethical research cultures.

Session 5: Closing Roundtable
Towards a Culture of Integrity and Care in Higher Education
