Project Aim and Goals
To develop AI-powered tools and simulations that help stakeholders understand, verify, and implement trustworthy AI in health sciences and well-being, with potential scalability to other priority sectors.
- Advancing Trustworthy AI Research:
- Identify critical trustworthy AI factors through a metaverse simulation experiment.
- Investigate perceptions of AI trustworthiness among developers, managers, users, and policymakers.
- Fostering Responsible AI in Health and Well-Being:
- Conduct focus groups across four countries.
- Develop a Massive Open Online Course (MOOC) and an AI-based learning model.
- Aligning Global and Local AI Frameworks:
- Contribute to the UAE AI Seal brand by integrating AI trustworthiness factors into the UAE’s ethical AI framework.
- Publish a policy paper to support AI governance in line with the EU AI Act and global best practices.
Project Funding
The project is funded by the Dubai Future Foundation (DFF) under the RDI Grant Program.
Expected Project Deliverables and Outcomes
Research Outputs:
- Academic Publications: At least two journal papers, three to six conference papers, and a policy brief.
- Learning Repository: A publicly accessible knowledge base on AI trustworthiness.
AI-Powered Tools and Education:
- Metaverse Simulation: A governance sandbox that allows stakeholders to test and experience AI trustworthiness factors.
- MOOC on Trustworthy AI: A free online course providing AI literacy training for the public and AI stakeholders.
Impact and Future Applications:
- Contributions to AI policy and governance frameworks.
- Strengthening AI ethics education across universities and organizations.
- Expansion of the UAE AI Seal initiative for international adoption.
